Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you use ReceiptCSV, we collect:
- Your email address (for account creation and authentication)
- Receipt images you upload
- Extracted data from those images (store name, date, totals, line items)
- Usage data (upload counts, feature usage) for service improvement
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to provide the receipt extraction and CSV export service. We process receipt images through AI providers to extract structured data, and we store your receipts so you can view, search, and export them later.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data or receipt information to third parties.
Receipt images are sent to our AI processing providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini) solely for the purpose of extracting receipt data. We do not share data for training, advertising, or any other purpose.
Data retention
Your receipts and extracted data are stored until you delete them or delete your account. You can delete individual receipts at any time from your dashboard, or delete your entire account from the Account settings page.
Cookies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. These are necessary for the service to function. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
Integrations (Pro plan)
When you enable integrations, we share receipt data with third-party services you authorize. Below is what each integration sends and receives.
When a receipt is saved, we send receipt fields (store name, date, total, currency, line items, image URL) to the Zapier webhook URL you configure. Zapier processes this data according to your Zap setup and their Privacy Policy. We do not control what Zapier or your chosen action apps do with the data.
Your inbound email address and its associated receipts are stored. The email provider (e.g., SendGrid) processes inbound emails on our behalf for delivery only; they do not access receipt content. We do not read or store the body of forwarded emails — only image attachments are extracted and processed.
When you connect Google Sheets, we request permission to create and append rows to a spreadsheet in your Google Drive. We send receipt fields (date, store, amount, currency, category, type) to the spreadsheet. We can read existing rows only in the ReceiptCSV spreadsheet. We cannot access other files in your Google Drive. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.
When you connect QuickBooks, we request permission to create Bill transactions and Vendor records in your QuickBooks company. We send receipt data (store name as vendor, date, total amount, line item descriptions) to QuickBooks. We can read vendor names and categories for mapping purposes. We cannot modify existing transactions. You can revoke access at any time from your Intuit account settings.
Your receipt data is stored in a Supabase database. If you use the Supabase API directly with your API tokens, data access is governed by your token permissions. We log API requests for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
The browser extension sends images you explicitly select or capture from a web page to our extraction API. The extension does not automatically scan pages, read browsing history, or transmit data without your action.
AI processing providers
Receipt images are sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, and others you configure) solely for the purpose of extracting structured receipt data. These providers process the image temporarily and do not retain it for training or improvement unless you opt in through their policies. We select the provider based on availability and historical accuracy.
